Why buy beads when you can make your own? This paper beads DIY tutorial explains how to make beads out of old magazines, calendars, or even junk mail! Add an eclectic, whimsical touch to your jewelry collection with handmade beads.

From the Blogger: "Paper beads are made out of magazines, brochures, and old calendars. They are carefully cut, rolled, and lacquered. Each bead is different, no two are exactly alike. Using recycled paper combined with passion, time and effort we meticulously combined together a piece of art you can wear with confidence. With the elements of patience, dedication and the love for craft pieced together creating a work of art that connects to any personality. ABINTRA handmade exclusively made from within."

  1. Collect old newspaper and magazines.

  2. Cut desired size of paper.

  3. Roll according to size and shape. At the end of the roll of paper, place a dab of glue to seal the bead.

  5. Treat the beads and dry longer. (Editor's note: we recommend treating the beads with several thin coats of Mod Podge, or another similar water-based sealer).

  6. When dry, seperate the beads according to size and colors.
