DIY Wire Pumpkin Earrings

DIY Wire Pumpkin Earrings

From the designer: "These DIY Wire Pumpkin Earrings are the perfect fall accessory. They're festive, handmade, and quick to put together. Using basic jewelry supplies like 20-22 gauge wire, 4 mm jump rings, small seed beads, earring hooks, and tools like pliers and cutters, you can craft a pair in just about 15 minutes. The process starts by winding loops around a round object, securing and shaping them into a pumpkin silhouette, coloring parts of the wire with a permanent marker for an orange finish, then adding green beads for the stem and wrapping the top wires for structure. Because the materials are lightweight, these earrings are comfortable to wear all day making them ideal for Halloween parties, fall gatherings, or just adding seasonal charm to your everyday outfits. I especially love how customizing the wire color or bead shade gives personality: try gold or metallic accents, or swap in different bead styles to match your wardrobe.

Pro tip: always clip and tuck wire ends neatly and use round-nose pliers to avoid sharp edges against skin. A light coat of clear varnish or sealant helps preserve the color and finish over time."

Materials List

  • 1 Orange Permanent Marker
  • 6 Small Green Beads - 2 mm
  • Jewelry Wire – note, you can sometimes find orange wire if you'd rather use that instead of coloring the wire yourself. If you use this, you will also need some plain silver wire. I used 20 gauge. I find that 20-22 is a good all-purpose one for this type of jewelry making.
  • 2 Jump Rings - 4mm
  • 2 Earring Hooks
  • Pliers
  • Wire cutters - strong scissors may also work
  • Small Screw Driver (or another small object that is about as thick as a lollipop stick)
