Materials:

  • ribbon crimps (also known as ribbon ends)
  • a clasp
  • 2 jump rings
  • ribbon (make sure it is the right size for the ribbon ends; my ribbon was ¼ inch)
  • strong glue, like E6000 cement
  • paper towel
  • toothpicks
  • pliers
  • scissors
  • ruler

Instructions:

  1. First cut your ribbon to your desired length. I cut mine to about 18 inches.

  2. Lay your ribbon on a paper towel. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto the paper towel and use a toothpick to apply the glue to the end of the ribbon. Work on one end at a time so you won’t have too much of a mess to deal with.

  3. Pop the ribbon crimp over the end of the ribbon. Use pliers to pinch the ribbon crimp. Give it a good squeeze! Repeat for the other end of the ribbon. Trim any excess ribbon threads.

  4. Now it’s time to attach the clasp. Open a jump ring (it might be handy to have another pair of pliers here) and attach one half of the clasp and one ribbon end. Close the jump ring. Repeat with the other end of the ribbon.
